Schools & Communities

Children learn most effectively when they are actively involved  in a project, can see the purpose of it and when they are having fun.  While the process of designing and creating a mosaic is more important than the outcome, The Red Shed Mosaics are always of a consistently high standard.

Pauline works with Schools to ensure each mosaic project fit their individual needs and integrate well into the curriculum.  Mosaic can be used as a medium to convey what is being studied in the classroom. This can be seen in a recent project at Pukerua Bay School.

“Overall it was a very enriching experience and something different to offer the children.  The outcome was a great piece of memorabilia to be used in our playground”- H.Grindey , Plimmerton School

The children take a leading role in designing & creating these projects which can combine both hand-painted tiles & mosaic work to build fantastic artworks.

Working together on a creative project such as a Mural, Hopscotch or special paved area not only provides exciting and valuable learning experiences but also instils in them, a great pride in their school.

Working together as a group outside of the regular classroom environment helps to consolidate learning, establish friendships, and build self esteem.
